The bells of Christ Church, Coseley, rang out in a historic performance on Sunday, 8th February 2026, marking a significant double milestone for the parish.
A band of eight ringers completed a 2-hour and 52-minute peal of Stanford Delight Major, a new method composed and named in honour of the Reverend Emma Stanford. The performance marked the 100th peal rung at the tower since her arrival in 2015.
Described as a "much appreciated supporter of all ringing at Coseley," Rev Stanford has overseen a decade of flourishing activity in the bell tower. This technical achievement—the first peal ever rung in this specific method—serves as a lasting tribute to her ministry and her encouragement of the local ringing community.
The band comprised of 1. Andrew W Gordon, 2. Jill D Walburn, 3. Michael Chester, 4. Stephen W Horton, 5. Richard J Hurst, 6. Stephen G Askew, 7. Paul M Mason (C), 8. Gordon R Birks.
